Job Title: Senior Accountant
Reports To: Accounting Manager
FLSA Status: Exempt
The Senior Accountant is a key role within the accounting department and works closely with all members of each accounting team to ensure the accounting records for each project are accurate and complete. The position reports directly to the Accounting Manager and is responsible for supporting all functions of the accounting and finance department. The Senior Accountant is expected to have strong communication and accounting skills as well as the willingness to work closely with all members of the organization.
Preparation, interpretation and analysis of financial statements for internal and external reporting
Key role in the month-end closing process including preparation of elimination and closing entries
Prepare and reconcile intercompany cost transfers and associated billings
Assist in project budgeting and analysis of progress reports to ensure completion and accuracy of all information
Responsible for accounting for fixed assets in accordance with the company’s procedure.
Preparation and submittal of applications to various authorities for the annual construction prequalification process
Assist external auditors with audit requests and footnote preparation
Preparation of bank and general account reconciliations
B.S. in Accounting / Finance
Certified Public Accountant License is beneficial
5+ years of experience
Experience with consolidations of multiple legal entities, including elimination entries
Experience with foreign currency exposures
Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook)
Experience with accounting systems such as JD Edwards
Ability to travel less than 20%

Good verbal and written communication skills. Ability to effectively plan and organize to meet project deadlines.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software, reporting tools related to databases. Must have the ability to learn Accounting and Electronic Content Management software programs.
